So tomorrow I might go shopping which means going off the island! For those who don’t know, I live on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest which means that I do have an easier way of getting to the mainland than people on the other San Juan islands thanks to Deception Pass Bridge.

Unfortunately, we do still have at least 45 minutes until we actually get anywhere worthwhile after getting off the island (Anacortes is the nearest ‘nice’ place to stop at), so it’s a pretty uncommon trip to make on a regular basis. Most of my family are pretty content with staying on the island for weeks at a time but I really like getting onto the mainland and doing some decent shopping instead of settling for Wal Mart or Maurices (although don’t get me wrong, I do love Maurices, I just like some more variety).
So in celebration of getting off the island, I’m doing what I always do when my mum and I make the trek to the nearest mall - I’m making a mix CD. Ah, yes, we still use CDs. We don’t have any fancy iPod plug-in thing or anything else like that, I buy blank CDs in bulk and burn tons of mix CDs for one-time listens in the car. It sounds really silly, but I have a really good time making them! I actually get really into it and try to make sure the songs all flow together and make sure I don’t have a really hyper, energetic song after a slow ballad, and there are even some CDs that I made that flowed because they had similar beats.
I’m not sure what mood I feel like today, I might make two different ones and keep the one that we don’t use for another day. One thing I can be sure of is that there will be plenty of Super Junior and Big Bang as I am completely addicted right now!
